Cedar Point the Trip

Last tues my friend Mary and I embarked on a road trip to engage in one of our favorite pastimes, rollercoastering. We decided to go to two Cedar fair amusement parks, Cedar Point and Kings Island. We went to Cedar Point late in the season last year but didn't really get to go on too many coasters because of the enormous crowds. So this year we decided to take the trip before the end of the school year as to avoid large crowds on the rides. The strategy seemed to work..but before I get to that I wanted to comment on a few things about the trip.

On the way to Cedar Point we drove though Cleveland and here was the scene in the sky....

While it looks like there might be dirt on the windows of Mary's car or it might look like smoke is in the air....it's actually packs of gnats as made famouse in the Yankees indians ALDS series in 2007

The crazy thing about the bugs is that when we would drive through the pack it sounded like it was raining as the bugs were getting splattered on the windshield.

here is what happened to the front of MAry's car.....

SO anyhow onto the real purpose of the trip. Our rollercoastering. We first went to Cedar Point. where we got to ride alot of the stuff twice dude to the lack of lines and due to the fact that we got into the park a half hour early with our platinum passes.

We rode the:

Top thrill Dragster

Milenium Force

MAverick

The next day we went to Kings Island which is another Cedar Fair Amusement park. Its actually a pretty good park as well except for the broke ass Eiffel Tower in the middle of the park.

The Diamondback.

There we rode on the Diamondback...which we rode for the first time ever on the front which was pretty cool.

The Beast...

another cool ride we rode on was the bease which I guess is one of the longest wooden rollercoasters in the world. I normally doen't like wooden rollercoaster but this was probably the best one that i've ever been on. The ride was long and relatively smooth. Another cool feature was that the ride went through a pretty secluded part of the park. It was kind of like being on a runaway train going through the woods.

SkyCoaster

After avoiding it forever I finally rode on the skycoaster. MAry talked me into it and she even paid. They had a $5 per person special which was cool. Normally that ride costs about $20 per person.

(this is a skycoaster ride the THE skycoaster ride we went on)

Hopefully we'll make it to Canadas Wonderland or maybe back to Cedar POint sometime again this summer.

i used to go to cedar point about every summer when i was a kid (my dad even took us in the chevy) anyway, kristy and i went there and i rode the Mantis, which pretty much scared the crap out of me. If it weren't for Kristy and I getting literally no sleep the night before (and us not being so scared of it) we might've tried the top thrill dragster too. true story: my grandma's false teeth fell out on the demon drop when i was a kid
